Being a somewhat conscientious pet owner, I bought and installed rather rugged seat covers for the back seat of my car. It gives the dogs a place to lay down on drives, but protects the upholstery from hair and nails. So far, it’s worked out just fine.

This afternoon, I discovered that Maggie the Destructopooch, likes the taste of seat covers and the zippers they contain. Rather than starting an upholstery protection scheme that resembles “She swallowed to catch the spider to catch the fly”, I’m going to acquire a hard rubber bone of the Kong variety that will live forever in my back seat.

Hopefully, that distracts her from her taste for cordura and aluminum zippers.
