/ July 2, 2015My Navy pistol ribbon was earned with a 1911. And yes, that was quite a long time ago. In 1973 my first ship still had 1911s, Garands, BARs, Thompsons, and the air cooled Brownings in the armory. And when they got new weapons, M-14s, and M-60s, the 1911s remained the same.
