    I live in Casper, Wyoming. Our airport started out as a AAF air base for Liberator training.
    In the Sweetwater rocks (to the SW of Casper) one can find gobs of 50 BMG AP bullets, links, and brass for the price of a half hour hike.
    One of the vets from the base was an armorer during that time. He would remind me that “happiness is belt fed”. I sure miss him.

      Parts of Fort Knox are like that. Last fall when Girlie Bear and I were hunting there, we came up on several piles of brass and clips from M-1 Garands, and the steel/tin ends for the cardboard tubes that bazooka ammunition was shipped in.

      I must have picked up that link last night when I was helping with training at Fort Knox.
