/ June 30, 2015I was a factory trained DS/GS repairer for the missile systems, as opposed to the modified Bradley vehicle transporter. You forgot a coupla things: Each Missile pod weights 5,050lbs of which it has two.
Wonder of wonders, the vehicle portion has American standard measurements, ie: nuts and bolts. while the LLM (Launcher Loader Module) has metric nuts and bolts. The DS/GS repairer needs 2 complete sets of tools.
Originally The LLM could be frired from inside the cab and in a dismounted mode with a 50 meter? remote firing cable (unfortunately, the 50meter cable is too shot for the dismounted crew to be out of the rocket exhaust danger zone.)
The record for ripple fire was approx 30seconds as done by American crew members on the range at Ft Bliss,TX And as the black smoke rose the fire dept came in and put out the turret fire, and then the DS/GS repairers onhand spent 8hrs hand cranking the turret around to stow position, and the track was towed off to the Maufacturerers work space to have the entire turret electronic cable system replaced, And the Blast Door that we saw blown off the LLM replaced.
