I’d like to put this out as a statement of policy at Casa de Oso:
If you are coming to my home after 8 PM and you know me, please have the courtesy to call ahead first.
If I do not know you, and you knock on my door after dark, I am not opening the door. I will, if you are claiming distress, call 911 for you and stay on the line until the nice men and women with the flashing lights arrive. Heck, if you say you’re lost or have a broken down car, I may even call someone to come help you.
But I’m not opening that door.
If you are in danger, well, we’ll take that on a case by case basis, but it’s not looking good for me stepping out on my porch to defend you. Either way, you’re not getting inside the house.
Please, for both our sake, do not threaten me or try to enter my home uninvited. Don’t make me make that decision.
I’m not going out like this. You shouldn’t go out like the woman who got shot

/ August 7, 2014From what I saw….He had a justifiable case but what screwed him was the interview after the fact. he didn’t have any lawyer present, and I assume*pardon the expression* that he saw what happened to Zimmerman and tried to go from justifiable to “accidental”. The prosecution case wasn’t that good, but the discrepancy was capitalized on. I have stated many times that the prosecution is interested in convictions…not justice…especially when the “victim” has a protected status and the homeowner represents ” the old social order”. Talk to a lawyer before you talk to the police…especially if there is a shooting.

/ August 10, 2014His first mistake was opening the door. Had he followed your dicta, he’d have been fine. His second mistake was talking to anyone without first talking to a lawyer.
I don’t open the door at anytime of the day without looking out through the peep hole. More so when I’m staying in a hotel.

/ August 10, 2014Definitely when I’m staying at a hotel. Nobody has business coming to that door uninvited. I look through the window at home, and I definitely put on my “big guy in a bad mood” face when it’s a stranger.
