Oh, Lord, won’t you buy me, an insurance plan?
My friends all have have Blue Cross,
I’m a big Obama fan!
Worked hard in the campaign,
Voted thrice for our man.

/ October 2, 2013I’m gonna be the first one to comment….I lived through this era, I heard this song when it FIRST came out on the radio, I listened to her and understood the atmosphere the country was in….and I got to tell ya; I don’t see why everybody is hepped up about this girl. My buddies and I knew she was just a fat drunk groupie the band would toss if they couldn’t get anything else. All of the hoopla about her soul, rhythm and blues style of singing; well you put enough guitar and reverb into the song you can make anything sound good. There, said it, got that off my chest. Wheeh, feels good…

/ October 2, 2013I’m not going to say that she was the be-all, end-all singer of her generation, but her music reminds me of a time I want to remember, and it’s good, easy-to-sing-along stuff, so I keep listening.
