Thoughts on the Day

  • Apparently purple is not a color that Moonshine likes.
    • At least that was the only color of sidewalk chalk and crayon that he didn’t eat last night.
    • He also ate the boxes.
    • This is going to be interesting.
  • Crash seems to be fitting in quite well.  Today he climbed the living room drapes, hid in ambush on the curtain rod, and jumped straight down onto Koshka as she walked through the room.
    • Koshka refuses to cooperate with the investigation, so I suspect she is looking for her own justice.
  • There are very few things as satisfying as showing someone the email exchange where they discussed work that needs to be done after they deny all knowledge of it.
  • Going to a high school open house makes me hope that my daughter marries someone she meets in college.  In Sweden.
  • I really hope that tempura paint washes out of Boo’s school shirt.  He only has two  (more are on order) and today was art day.

I am sure Irish woman has the laundry situation under control, and most tempera paints they use in schools are washable.
However, I have had experience getting (non-washable) tempera paint stains off clothing. Here’s my tips: Wet painted clothes with plain warm water to soften the paint. Squirt a healthy amount of hand sanitizer, like Germ-x, on the painted area. Scrub the painted section gently with a nailbrush or toothbrush to loosen the paint. Rinse and reapply sanitizer to the painted spot. Let sit for an hour or so, rinse and reapply if necessary. Soak tempera painted spot in hand sanitizer over night if any paint remains. Scrub gently again to loosen any remaining paint from the clothing. When the tempera paint ‘chunks’ are gone, launder as usual to remove any remaining residue. Adding something like Oyxclean or Borax to the wash has shown to be beneficial as well. Check the item before drying. If any paint residue remains, go back to the sanitizer treatment.
