A Request for My Louisville Area Readers

Guys,

A friend of mine is putting together a CARE package for a unit that’s deployed someplace hot and dirty.  She’s requested help in getting together the stuff that the guys have requested.  If you’re in the area and want to donate, just contact me and we’ll meet up so I can get it from you.  My friend would like to send the package out some time in the next couple of weeks, and anything y’all can contribute would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

DB

When my son was in Kuwait he wanted water. He said their water was so highly chlorinated that it was like drinking bleach and he was constantly thirsty. I sent him a care package with several bottles of smart water and a water bottle that came with a built in filter for when that was gone. He said it tasted like candy. He had to lock it up so it wouldn’t get stolen. So when you’re sending your packages – one of those Brita travel bottles with a couple of re-fill cartridges would be GREATLY appreciated by your soldier.

Packages of Kool Aide helps with the water. Its what dad used in Veitnam and you know how high tech water purifying was back then.

Plus, they make drink mixes in tubes now that are easy to pour into a canteen or bottle.

And yeah, I’ve drank my share of ‘pool water’ over the years.

I got the bottle- its pricey but worth it. Also HIGHLY recommended for you SHTF bag

Now i run all my bottled-abroad water through a brita water filter (fridge style) but this is the bottle version:

    Godspeed to them

Thanks. I’ll suggest it to my friend. she’s looking for ideas on what to add beyond what they’ve requested. Bonus is that those things don’t weigh much, so it won’t boost shipping costs.
