/ June 17, 2012My Take – This one is a bit of a hard one to quantify. Paine was appealing to the base emotions of his audience, and he did an excellent job.
A person who has the ability to look at trouble and excel in spite of it is indeed a special individual. The natural instinct is to get away from trouble, but when you have to face it head on, you have to find strength inside you. Compromising yourself to avoid trouble when something important is at stake means you will compromise yourself for petty things as well.
