   I was at basic at Fort Lost in the Wood in Misery (Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri) and was on sickcall for feet issues and saw it.

   I saw it, then we launched as the search aircraft. Spent three days flying 1/2 mile spaced tracks off the cape looking for pieces.

   I was on a second shift rotation at the Philly Shipyard and was driving to meet my schoolteacher wife for lunch. The school had not heard and we did not go out to lunch.
